Lovely Elettra*
Far from here, all the way across the ocean, there is a cute little girl with big brown eyes and a charming smile that dreams cities surrounded by nature and animals! Her name is Elettra, a Pleiades star. She* imagines a different New York, with no streets and no cars, but just a peaceful city layed on a grass carpet. A shining sun, big green trees, a clear sea, and of course her loved cousin Sebastiano... that's her dream!
Lontano da qui, al di la' dell'oceano, c'e' una ragazzina dai grandi occhi castani e un sorriso incantevole che sogna citta' circondate dalla natura e dagli animali! Si chiama Elettra, Stella delle Pleiadi. Lei* fantastica una New York diversa, dove non ci sono ne' strade ne' macchine ma semplicemente un grande tappeto verde su cui si adagia la citta'. Un sole splendente, grandi alberi rigogliosi, un mare limpido e naturalmente il suo amato cugino Sebastiano...questo e' il suo sogno!

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge * Through the eyes of Yevgeniya Gregor
I'm happy to finally post this amazing photographs taken by Yevgeniya Gregor. She is a great woman that lives not too far from the Wildlife Refuge. She enjoys spending time observing nature and animals. During one of her walks through the park she had the chance to run into a Juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron and a couple of Juvenile Herring Gull. Enjoy the pictures!
Sono felice di essere finalmente riuscita a pubblicare queste incredibili fotografie scattate da Yevgeniya Gregor. Yevgeniya e' una donna eccezionale che vive non molto lontano dal Wildlife Refuge, nel tempo libero le piace osservare la natura e gli animali che popolano il parco. Durante una delle sue escursioni ha avuto la fortuna di imbattersi in un Nycticorax nycticorax (Nitticora) e in due Larus argentatus (Gabbiano Reale Nordico ). Gustatevi le foto!

New York City Marathon 2011
A few months ago I couldn't have imagined that I would be taking pictures of the New York City Marathon! But there I was! ...Surrounded by 48.500 people from all over the world! Peru, Mexico, Japan, France, Tanzania... and of course Italy, and many more countries were represented during this great event! The atmosphere was amazing and exciting! I hope to express with my pictures a little taste of that day!
Fino a pochi mesi fa non avrei mai immaginato di fotografare la Maratona di New York! Ma eccomi li'!...Circondata da 48.500 persone provenienti da tutto il mondo! Peru', Messico, Giappone, Francia, Tanzania...e naturalmente Italia e molti altri paesi ancora! L'atmosfera era incredibilmente eccitante! Spero di riuscire ad esprimere con queste mie foto il sapore di questa giornata!

bio blitz 2011
On September 16th and 17th the American Littoral Society in collaboration with the National Park Service hosted two days of a full immersion experience into nature! The Bio Blitz was a success! About a hundred of people actively participated in this amazing 24 hours discovery program. Scientists, students, teachers, naturalists and volounteeers were walking up and down Sandy Hook studying and observing all kind of different animal and plant species that live on this lush and verdant stretch of land.
Il 16 e il 17 settembre sono stati due giorni di totale immersione nella natura! Il Bio Blitz, organizzato dall'American Littoral Society in collaborazione con il National Park Service, è stato un vero e proprio successo! Circa un centinaio di persone hanno partecipato attivamente a questo incredibile evento. Scienziati, studenti, insegnanti, naturalisti e volontari hanno esplorato Sandy Hook in lungo e in largo, studiandone ed osservandone le diverse specie animali e vegetali che popolano questa striscia di terra fertile e verdeggiante.

tu parque, tu salud!
Tu Parque, Tu Salud is a pilot initiative that has brought five young Latin American New-Yorkers into an amazing health and fitness program through Gateway National Recreation Area. The program, partially sponsored by the American Heart Association, is a true immersion into sport and nature. The five interns, helped by Rangers Sheridan Roberts and Jessica Gonzalez, learned about the park and had the chance to lead different programs with the public. Tu Parque, Tu Salud, started on June 27th 2011, is almost at its end. During the last three months the interns lived everyday a new adventure: kayaking, sailing, camping, biking, hiking... No time to get bored!
Tu Parque, Tu Salud é un'iniziativa pilota che ha visto coinvolti cinque giovani Newyorchesi di origine Latino Americana attraverso un percorso di attivitá fisiche e salutari tenutesi all'interno del Gateway National Recreation Area. Il programma, parzialmente sponsorizzato dall' American Heart Association, é un vero e proprio tuffo nello sport e nella natura. I cinque tirocinanti, guidati dai Ranger Sheridan Roberts e Jessica Gonzalez, hanno avuto l'occasione di conoscere piú a fondo il parco ed hanno anche coordinato diverse attivitá ricreative con visitatori del parco. L'iniziativa, iniziata il 27 Giugno 2011, é quasi arrivata al suo termine. Durante gli ultimi tre mesi i ragazzi hanno vissuto ogni giorno nuove avventure: kayak, barca a vela, campeggio, escursioni a piedi e in bicicletta... Insomma non c'é stato tempo per annoiarsi!
